CFMOTO V4SR-RR: a 997 cc V4 with wings that move before braking

CFMOTO's first V4 superbike made its debut at EICMA with more than 210 hp, about 180 kg dry and independently controlled winglets.

Engine in 2024, prototype in 2025, show bike in 2026

CFMOTO presented the V4SR-RR at its EICMA press conference in Milan on 3 November. The company calls it the most advanced superbike it has built. The project started at EICMA 2024 with the engine alone. A prototype followed at EICMA 2025 with a claimed 212 hp. In April 2026 the bike did its first public laps at the CFMOTO DAY event on the Chengdu circuit, and in June a pre-production prototype reached 315.82 km/h in a GPS-verified speed run in China.

A 997 cc 90-degree V4

This is the first CFMOTO with a V4. The 90-degree, 997 cc engine was developed in-house. CFMOTO France quotes more than 210 hp (157 kW) and a 15,000 rpm limit. The crankshaft is counter-rotating and the connecting rods are titanium.

Dry weight is about 180 kg, which puts the power-to-weight ratio below 1 kg per hp. The 2025 prototype was announced at under 200 kg, so the Milan bike is lighter than the prototype.

Winglets controlled independently

Active aerodynamics has been part of the project since the prototype. The moving winglets add downforce for stability under braking and in corners, and cut drag on the straights. On the Milan bike each side is controlled independently.

Just before braking from 160 km/h, CFMOTO says the system puts 20% more downforce on the front wheel than fixed winglets would. At higher speeds the wings can also work asymmetrically to help the bike change direction.

Chassis, brakes and tyres

A patented adjustable frame bracing system works with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension. The brakes are Brembo Hypure Sport calipers. They are part of a long-term partnership CFMOTO and Brembo signed in July 2026 for the brakes of future mid- and large-capacity CFMOTO bikes. The Akrapovič exhaust is all titanium, and the tyres are Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4.

The Carbon Black show bike

Next to it on the stand sat the V4SR-RR Carbon Black, which CFMOTO describes as the most extreme version. It is a track-focused show bike with bodywork mostly in carbon fibre, MotoGP-inspired aero, an Akrapovič titanium race exhaust, GILLES Tooling racing parts and an STM dry slipper clutch taken from MotoGP.

Price and dates still TBC

CFMOTO UK lists the price of both versions as TBC, and says arrival dates and final specifications for the UK have not been confirmed. CFMOTO France adds that the details may change before the bike goes on sale there.
